The purpose of the Texas A&M University Physical Therapy Society is to acquaint students who are wishing to pursue a career in physical therapy with information about the field of physical therapy and the opportunities that exist within the field. The goals are for students to gain a better understanding of the field of physical therapy, to learn about the application process for physical therapy schools, and to be informed about different physical therapy school's programs.
What We Offer PTS provides a myriad of opportunities to grow and learn as a DPT applicant and future provider, in addition to becoming better connected with fellow Aggies! Listed below are examples of what we provide.
+DPT program presentations and networking +Field Trips to tour schools and interact with current faculty and students +PTCAS presentations to gain an understanding of the application process +Volunteer Opportunities within the Bryan/College Station Community +Intramurals and Social Events to form new friendships with like-minded peers +Access to a network of faculty, alumni, and current students in the Physical Therapy Field
Membership
To be considered an active member you must have paid semester dues and have a total of 7 points by the end of the semester. This can be any combination of meeting, service, and social points. The points sheet for members can be found in the GroupMe and will be updated periodically. Service points can also be earned by donating canned goods to the Brazos Valley Food Bank (5 cans for 1pt, 10 for 2pts), shadowing at a PT clinic (10 hrs for 1pt, 20 for 2pts), or by sending proof of independent volunteering and tagging @tamuptsociety. Dues can be paid through the PTS Flywire (Merch can also be found on the Flywire) Email Hudson with documentation of volunteer/shadowing hours ([email protected] u).
